A story of freshness

Black Key Coffee was founded in 2019 by Devon and Andrew Blakley in Avon OH.

 

Andrew, our roastmaster, has been a passionate coffee enthusiast for over a decade and was a classically trained barista in his early twenties. He found roasting green coffee as a method of artistic therapy was a great way of dealing with his severe depression and anxiety. Roasting coffee put him in a position so he could work with passion and focus on things that helped him heal, such as buying ethically from farmers and minimizing impact on the environment.

Devon was born and raised in the Cleveland area, has always had an extreme passion for her hometown, and was passionate about starting a small business where she can help people. Over her lifetime, she has been very active in the community by giving back to the city and its surrounding neighborhoods. Volunteerism, supporting small businesses, and championing Cleveland has long been a passion for her

Between Andrew's passion for the science of coffee, Devon's passion for supporting Cleveland, and their love for drinking great coffee, Black Key Coffee was born!

At Black Key Coffee, we believe producing great coffee can be more then just tasty, but it can make a difference as well. We believe in supporting small family businesses, we believe well crafted coffee is worth a little more time and effort, and we believe there is a right way to do business that benefits farmers, roasters and customers. We are proud to bring you our fresh roasted beans crafted with love.
